The 39th brush fire in Indiana County this year was reported last night.
Indiana County 911 reported the brush fire was on Allison Road in Green Township outside of Dixonville. Commodore fire fighters were dispatched at 10:06 PM. No details have been provided yet on the cause or how much damage was done.
It would mark the second time that the Commodore Volunteer Fire Department would be dispatched yesterday. Commodore was joined by Marion Center Volunteer Fire Department for a vehicle fire on Deckers Point Road in Grant Township. Indiana County 911 said that the fire was reported at 3:07 PM.
Emergency crews were also dispatched to an apartment complex yesterday at 11:59 AM. Black Lick and Blairsville fire crews were attending a program at Blairsville Elementary as part of Fire Prevention Week when they were called out. It was determined that a “culinary mishap” was the cause of the fire alarm being triggered, and ventilation was needed to reset the alarm.
And at 7:22 last night, Dayton and Plumville fire departments were dispatched to Windows Road in West Mahoning Township. About 20 minutes later, Marion Center Volunteer Fire Department was called in to standby for Blairsville.
