Funds could be on the way for veterans across the commonwealth following a recent employment grant program was designed.
Pennsylvania Department of Labor and Industry Secretary Jennifer Barrier said in a news release that the department, along with the Wolf Administration, has designed Veterans Employment Program (VEP) Grants to eliminate employment barriers for veterans across the state.
The $800,000 of available funding will be used for new and innovative projects to identify veteran employment opportunities, close funding gaps, or supplement existing initiatives for more comprehensive services for veterans. These funds will be dispersed in increments of $200,000 each.
Eligible applicants include local workforce development boards, non-profit and non-governmental entities, and community-based organizations. Applications can be found on the department’s website and are due by November 21st at 4 p.m.
