On Tuesday night, the River Valley School Board unanimously approved a new after-school care program for the district.
One of the concerns for the program for PreK to 5th Grade students was the cost of the program to the parents. The cost to parents is $3 per child per hour, or $2 per child per hour for a family with two or more children in the program. One concern that was brought up was that the fees would cover the cost. Superintendent Philip Martell said it will depend on the number of students taking part.
Another concern was the possibility of losing the 21st Century Grant money if they have to use district money for the program. Martell said that it would not be a problem.
In other business, the board approved the administration to advertise for requests for quotes for delinquent tax collections.
