On Tuesday, the Blairsville Borough Council discussed some issues with pedestrian traffic signals in the downtown area.
On June 30th, two pedestrians were hit by a coal truck in the crosswalk at the intersection of Market Street and Route 217 as the truck made a turn in the intersection. At last night’s meeting, Blairsville Borough Manager Mike Baker said that the borough has been in discussion with PennDOT to find ways on preventing such an incident from happening again, and he said that PennDOT did come up with a solution.
This would affect three intersections along Market Street in Blairsville.
In other business, the borough council approved the new policy concerning police body cameras. Chief Lou Sacco details what the guidelines go over.
The guidelines will go with the body cameras donated by the Blairsville Eagles and by two private donors also donated money towards this cause.
