PennDOT has announced that there will be some ramp closures in effect over the weekend in Armstrong County.
For the weekend closure, Route 422 West to the Route 28 South ramp and the 28 Northbound ramp to 422 will be closed starting at 7:00 tomorrow night and will reopen in time for the morning commute on Monday. The closure is necessary to complete milling and paving operations of the ramps being done by Eruovia Atlantic Coast LLC. The project costs $15.9 million, and is expected to be completed in Fall of 2022.
To get around the detour, those going North on 28 to west on 422 should get off at the 422 East Exit and follow 422 East to the Indiana exit, where they will get off and then turn on to business 422 then turn right after crossing the bridge onto the ramp to Route 422 west. For those going west on 422 to south on 28, go past the exit to 28 South, and take the West Hills exit. Turn right at the first intersection onto Glade Drive. At the next intersection, turn right onto the State Route 8012 ramp to 422 East, then get off at Exit 59 to 28 South.
All the road work will be weather permitting.
