Stable global oil prices and a lack of demand continue to push gas prices at the pump down.
Triple-A reports that the national average gas price this morning is $3.87 a gallon, down another penny from yesterday, six cents from last week and 48 cents from last month. Experts with Triple-A say that the lack of demand is possibly due to changes in driving habits. According to their survey, almost two-thirds of U.S. Adults say they have changed their habits or lifestyle since March as a way to combat the surging gas prices. The top two changes according to the survey are combining errands and driving less overall.
Pennsylvania’s average is $4.17 a gallon this morning, which is two cents lower than yesterday, eight cents lower than last week and 38 cents lower than last month. Indiana County’s average this morning is $4.22, tying it with Cambria County. The lowest average in our region is Jefferson County at $4.11, with Westmoreland the next highest at $4.15, followed by Clearfield at $4.18. The highest in the region is Armstrong County at $4.27.
Many gas stations in Indiana are between $4.23 and $4.25. The price in Homer City and Clymer is $4.23, but Blairsville gas stations are reporting a price of $4.19 this morning, according to GasBuddy.com
