On Wednesday night, the River Valley School Board approved sharing information with the Allegheny County Schools Health Insurance Consortium.
There was a concern about what information was to be shared and why a local consortium was not being considered for this agreement. Superintendent Philip Martell said that there was no local consortium to get involved with.
The vote went 5-2, with Jessica Clawson and Melanie Pantalone voting against it.
By the same count of 5-2, the board approved the two district policies concerning the STEAM academy at the former Saltsburg Middle-High School. The policies concern enrollment for in-district and for out-of-district students. The board also approved the STEAM academy student enrollment evaluation rubric. And by another 5-2 vote, the board approved the performance goals for the Superintendent for the 2022-23 school year. In both instances, Clawson and Pantalone were the dissenting votes.
