On Monday night, the Purchase Line School Board approved an agreement with the union representing the support staff at the school district.
The agreement with AFSCME is retroactive to the start of last month and will run four years until June 3oth of 2026. Superintendent Shawn Ford said one of the particulars of the new agreement was an increase in wages.
In other business, the board authorized the appointment of Dawn Ambrisco as the interim Junior/Senior High School Principal at the rate of $100 a day. The reason for that is that the company that currently employs Gregory Shingle has not released him yet from his job. Ford said that this is pretty much standard, and Shingle is expected to be released from his current employer within the next sixty days.
