IUP announced its plans for in-person instruction for the upcoming fall semester earlier this morning.
Officials said the university plans to return to full in-person instruction in the fall. The return means that meetings and gatherings will transition to in-person formats and employees will return to working at their locations on-campus.
At the same time, IUP will continue to follow CDC guidance regarding masks and face coverings based on county COVID-19 transmission rates, and masks will still be required inside IUP’s Health Service. Additionally, while wearing masks is not recommended, the expectation remains for visitors to individual offices and/or residence halls to follow the preference set regarding mask usage.
Lastly, student-athletes will continue to adhere to COVID-19 policies in place by the NCAA and PSAC.
If there is a shift in the pandemic, and if the CDC recommends the frequent use of face coverings, IUP will change its policies accordingly.
