Prices at the gas pump continue to fall across the nation, state and county.
Triple A reports that the average gas price is $4.18 a gallon this morning. That is a three-cent drop from yesterday, a 14-cent drop from last week and a 24-cent drop from last month. However, experts say the downward trend could come to an end soon thanks to a slight increase in demand for gas. Gas demand went up 750,000 barrels a day over the last week, increasing to 9.25 million barrels a day.
Pennsylvania’s average gas price today is $4.46 a gallon, nearly a one cent drop over the last 24 hours, but it is a seven-cent drop from last week and a 44-cent drop from last month. Last year, the average gas price in Pennsylvania was $3.27.
Indiana County’s average this morning is slightly above the statewide average at $4.47. The lowest average in the region is $4.43, with Clearfield County following at $4.44. Westmoreland County’s average is $4.46 a gallon. Then comes Indiana County. Armstrong and Jefferson Counties are tied at $4.48 a gallon.
The lowest county-wide average is in Perry County at $4.26. The highest average is in both Bradford and Greene County at $4.57.
Gas stations in Indiana County are ranging from $4.47 to $4.54 a gallon, with most stations checking in with a $4.49 a gallon average today.
