On Monday night, the Center Township Supervisors heard from representatives of Citizens’ Ambulance.
Citizens’ will be visiting many of the municipalities they serve in an effort to get ongoing support for the non-profit ambulance agency. Last year, Center Township donated $10,000 that was matched by White Township. That along with funding from other municipalities and some one-time funding was able to fill most of a projected deficit of over $500,000. For 2023, that funding gap is projected to be $1.5 million due to the loss of the one-time revenue sources.
Chief Operating Officer B.J. Pino said that Citizens’ is in a better position than most other ambulance agencies at this time, and he wanted Center Township’s help in spreading the word on why helping the organization is important.
Out of all the households in Indiana County, roughly 15% are members of Citizens’ Ambulance, and about 17% of Center Township households are members.
In other business, the supervisors approved resolutions that deal with CDBG entitlement applications and a cooperation agreement that would allow the county to apply for and administer 2022 CDBG Funds on behalf of the township.
