After keeping many lottery players on the edge, Mega Millions lottery officials announce that there is a new billionaire.
Lottery officials on Saturday morning confirmed at least one winning ticket was sold for Friday’s drawing. The winning numbers drawn last night were 13-36-45-57-67 with a mega ball of 14. The Megaplier was 2.
Last night’s jackpot started at $1.01 billion, but because of strong sales across the country, the jackpot continued to grow to close to $1.3 billion, with a cash option of $750 million.
The Mega Millions jackpot had not been hit since April 15th. The winning ticket was sold in Illinois, but officials with Mega Millions announced that two people in Pennsylvania matched all five regular numbers, which nets them $1 million. One of those winners bought the optional “Megaplier” play, doubling their prize to $2 million.
