While gas price averages continue to go down, increases in crude oil prices and demand could bring the lengthy descent in prices to a stop.
The national average according to Triple A is $4.25 a gallon this morning. That’s a two-cent drop from yesterday, a 16-cent drop from last week and a 61-cent drop from last month. Experts with Triple A say demand for gas has been going up from 8.52 million barrels a day to 9.25 million barrels a day over the last week. As trading opens today, the crude oil price is $98.44 a barrel, representing an increase over the last week.
Pennsylvania’s average is now $4.48 as of this morning, which is a two-cent drop from yesterday, a 12 cent drop from last week, and a 46 cent drop from last month.
Indiana County’s average dipped one cent over the last week to $4.49 a gallon. Cambria has the lowest in the region at $4.44. That’s followed by Clearfield County at $4.47 a gallon, then Jefferson County at $4.48. Indiana follows, then Westmoreland at $4.50. The highest in the region is Armstrong County at $4.56.
Gasbuddy.com reports that gas prices in Indiana County this morning ranging from $4.47 to $4.59, with many stations at $4.49.
