Discussion on a proposal to add language to the White Township dangerous structure ordinance will continue tonight at the White Township Supervisors Meeting.
Discussion on a possible ordinance concerning swimming pool structure safety started after a five-year-old White Township child was found dead in a swimming pool after wandering away from home in July of 2021. Since then, there have been some calls for a swimming pool ordinance, but after several meetings, the township’s Comprehensive Plan Steering Commission recommended adding language to the current dangerous structure ordinance. At their last meeting on July 13th, the township supervisors received a draft version of the new language that is proposed to be added to the ordinance.
The supervisors are also scheduled to receive an update from the Stewardship Committee and an upgrade to the sound system at S&T Bank Arena.
The meeting will be held at 7:00 tonight at the White Township Building.
