Plea court hearings are scheduled for today in Indiana County’s Court of Common Pleas.
While some of the hearings are for drug-related crimes, two of the scheduled hearings will be for a Blairsville man who faces theft-related charges. 27-year-old Chauncey Calvin Hafer faces charges of retail theft, receiving stolen property and possession of an instrument of crime for an incident on February 2nd of 2020. The other hearing will be for an incident on February 18th of 2020 for charges of theft by unlawful taking and receiving stolen property.
Meanwhile at the court of district judge Robert Bell Sr., 22-year-old Nicholus Roberts of Cooperstown will have a preliminary hearing today for charges of simple assault and harassment. This is for an incident on March 27th of this year. Indiana Borough Police say they were called out to the 1100 block of Philadelphia Street early in the morning for a possible domestic dispute in progress. Police found Roberts had assaulted his domestic partner. He has been in jail in lieu of $20,000 bail.
