On Monday, the Marion Center School Board heard an update from business manager Richard Martini about the district’s budget after the state passed its budget earlier this month.
Business Manager Richard Martini said that the district received an additional $264,017 in state funding, and while the district appreciated the increase, it doesn’t cover everything, and the district has to use fund balance monies to cover any budget deficit left over.
In other business, the board was presented with a draft comprehensive plan for the district, and director of education Amy Gaston announced that a special comprehensive plan meeting will be held in August. She said the public was invited and talked about why it’s important for the public to attend.
The meeting will run from 2-7 PM on August 17th.
