As we head into the weekend, gas price averages continue to drop across the nation, state and county.
Triple-A reports that the National Average this morning is at $4.38 a gallon. That is a three-cent drop from yesterday, a 16-cent drop from last week and a 56-cent drop from last month. Experts say that gas prices continue to drop due to the decline in the cost of crude oil and the low levels of demand. At the end of trading yesterday, the cost of crude oil was at $95.09 a barrel. Meanwhile, demand remains at 8.52 million barrels a day, which was a slight increase from 8.06 million barrels a day the previous week.
Pennsylvania’s average is $4.57, also a three-cent drop from yesterday, a 12-cent drop from last week and 42 cents down from last month. Indiana county’s average this morning is $4.55. That ties it with Clearfield County. The lowest average in the area is $4.54 in both Jefferson and Cambria Counties. Westmoreland County is $4.61 and the highest is Armstrong county at $4.68, which is also the highest in the state. The lowest county-wide average is $4.38 in Perry County.
In Indiana county, gas prices range from $4.53 to $4.67, with most stations checking in with a $4.59 price for regular unleaded gas.
