Indiana Borough Police report two incidents of public drunkenness that happened over the weekend in Indiana Borough.
Officers were dispatched for the first incident around 1:40 Saturday morning to the area between the 200 block of North 6th Street and Oak Street for reports of an intoxicated man lying in the street. Upon arrival, officers identified the man to be John Lee Barto of Indiana. He was arrested and issued a citation of public drunkenness, and later released to a sober adult.
The second report happened around 11:42 last night when officers were dispatched to the 700 block of Maple Street to speak to a caller about obtaining beer. After an investigation, 59-year-old Carlton C. Shellhammer was arrested and cited for public drunkenness through Magisterial Judge Guy Haberl’s office.
