Altoona beat Akron, 6-3 last night in the first game of their series. The Curve’s Aaron Shackelford followed up Jared Triolo’s RBI single with a 3-run homer to make it 4-0 in the third inning, and Matt Fraizer drove in a run with a single in the fourth. Fraizer was 3-for-4 and Triolo 3-for-5. Carmen Mlodzinski got the win, pitching five innings and giving up two runs in the fifth.
The Curve will play game two of the series tonight, with no starter announced yet, and Monday’s postponed game has been rescheduled as part of a doubleheader tomorrow in Akron.
