Plea and sentencing hearings will be held today in Indiana County Court, including one for a state prison inmate for violating drug-related rules.
Court documents show that 21-year-old Aaron Taylor, currently serving time at SCI-Pine Grove, will enter pleas to charges of possession of contraband, possession of a controlled substance and of drug paraphernalia for an incident reported on July 27th of last year. He is serving time at the state prison in Indiana County for charges of murder in the third degree, conspiracy to that charge, and to robbery to inflict serious bodily injury. Taylor, originally from Pottstown, admitted he was the triggerman in an incident in November of 2018 where a woman was killed in a home. He is serving a 30-60 year prison sentence.
Sentencing hearings are also scheduled for today, including two other inmates who had procured weapons while in prison. Charges were filed against Marlon Goodman for an incident on May 24th of last year, and Jayvon Ramirez for an incident on September 27th of 2021. Also due for sentencing today is 23-year-old Reese Barnes of Punxsutawney, who pleaded guilty to a charge of fleeing or eluding police for an incident on August 17th of last year. He will also be sentenced for guilty pleas criminal trespass and theft by unlawful taking for an incident on April 4th of 2020. Also, 57-year-old Paul Thrain of Weston will be sentenced today for guilty pleas to charges of theft and criminal mischief.
