The president of the faculty union at the State System of Higher Education yesterday warned the Board of Governors against treating professors and coaches as “cogs in a machine or just numbers”.
Dr. Ken Mash returned to the presidency after his predecessor, Dr. Jamie Martin, stepped down for health reasons. He said he was proud of how APSCUF’s members handled the pandemic but said that after his two years away from the helm he has “dozens of questions about decisions that have been made.”
Mash also shared concerns he has with the funding formula for the State System schools and said he thought there should have been more public discussion of it in order to help construct it. He is hoping for more discussion of the policy in the future.
Mash has spent the two years away from the APSUC presidency back on campus at East Stroudsburg University.
