At their meeting Wednesday night, members of the Penns Manor School Board approved the district’s health and safety plan for the 2022-23 school year.
The board unanimously voted in favor of the plan, which Superintendent Daren Johnston said no changes were made. He adds that if COVID-19 cases increase across the district, the board will revise the plan as needed. The Pennsylvania Department of Health requires all school boards to approve a new health and safety plan prior to the start of the academic year.
In other business, board members approved a motion to enter into an agreement with Citizens’ Ambulance Service for the next school year.
The agreement is worth $4,900 and Johnston broke down the specifics of the agreement.
Johnston also told board members that an item was taken off the agenda, that being the vote for a final budget. He said he was reminded that a time period of 30 days has to pass before a final vote could take place and yesterday was only day 28.
The board voted to reconvene on Wednesday, June 22 at 7 p.m. to vote on the final budget for next year.
