Pennsylvania State Police have charged a Homer City man with raping a child and related crimes.
According to a news release, 46-year-old David Gene Crawford, Jr. was charged with 10 felony counts, including rape of a child, rape by forcible compulsion, rape with threats, statutory sexual assault, involuntary deviate sexual intercourse by forcible compulsion and by threat of forcible compulsion. On Thursday, police were investigating a report that accused Crawford for incidents that go back to July of 2020. The Troop A Forensic Services Unit and other agencies assisted in the investigation. Crawford was found by State Troopers and was taken into custody without further incident.
On top of the felony charges he faces, Crawford also faces four misdemeanor indecent assault charges. He was arraigned this morning in front of Indiana County District Judge Christopher Welch and placed in Indiana County Jail in lieu of $250,000 cash bail. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for June 13th at 1:00 PM.
