State Police have released more information on a school bus crash yesterday in Rayne Township.
Investigators say that a Mazda 6 sedan with three people in it was going east on Chambersville Road, while a school bus carrying seven students to Rayne Elementary School was going west on the same road. As both drivers tried to negotiate a curve in the road, the two vehicles collided. No injuries were reported concerning the seven students or the driver of the bus. Two passengers in the car had minor to moderate injuries and were taken to IRMC for treatment. The driver was not injured.
The students were picked up by another school bus and were safely taken to Rayne Elementary. The crash resulted in the closure of that road for a few hours as crews continued to investigate. That investigation is ongoing and charges have not yet been announced.
