UPDATE AS OF 2 P.M.:
Greenfield added in a news release that two passengers in the car suffered minor to moderate injuries and were transported to Indiana Regional Medical Center for treatment. The driver, however, did not sustain any injuries.
An investigation into this crash is on-going.
Indiana County first responders were busy this morning as they were called out to two crashes within 20 minutes of each other.
State Police Public Information Officer Trooper Cliff Greenfield confirmed that a bus and car collided on Chambersville Road in Rayne Township near Route 119. Marion Center and Plumville Fire Departments were dispatched to the scene, along with Pennsylvania State Police and Citizens’ Ambulance.
A report from the Marion Center School District and State Police said the car was coming in the opposite direction of the bus, and drove into the side of the bus. The district confirmed that the bus had seven elementary students headed to Rayne Elementary School on board. None of the students were hurt in the crash. The parents were notified and the students were taken to school safe and sound. An occupant in the car that crashed into it has possible injuries.
Another vehicle accident was reported on Route 22 near Clark Lane in East Wheatfield Township near the bottom of Chicory Mountain. This one involved a car and a tractor trailer. The truck driver was reportedly out and walking around when fire crews got there. People in the car suffered minor injuries. No word yet on how this crash happened.
