The Pirates officially announced the move of Yoshi Tsutsugo to the 10 day Injured List and the recall of Tucupita Marcano from double-A Altoona to take Tsutsugo’s place on the Roster.
Tsutsugo has a lumbar muscle strain and his time on the IL was retroactive to May 25th. Marcano was called up briefly in April before being sent back down to the Curve. Marcano has a .312 batting average in 29 games with the Curve.
The Pirates also confirmed that Michael Chavis left the game last night due to injury, as he suffered some left forearm discomfort. Chavis is Day-to-Day, according to manager Derek Shelton.
