The PITT Panthers football and basketball teams continued to grow their rosters on Friday.
For men’s basketball, head coach Jeff Capel landed 6’3” graduate transfer guard from Marquette Greg Elliott.
Elliott totaled 644 points, 241 rebounds and 137 assists in 114 games with Marquette. He also totaled 94 three-point field goals with the Golden Eagles.
Capel said Elliott brings toughness, three-point shooting, experience and maturity to the Panthers’ back-court rotation, and that his skill-sets fit well with the rest of his team’s backcourt look.
In football, head coach Pat Narduzzi landed JUCO transfer tight end Karter Johnson.
Johnson, a 6’2”, 238 pound sophomore, announced his commitment in a tweet shortly after 2:30 p.m. yesterday. He made 15 receptions that went for 212 yards with the Butler Community College Grizzlies.
Johnson also averaged 23.6 yards per game last season.
