State police say that a Clymer man is now in county jail on charges connected with a burglary in Dixonville on May 6th.
Police say on Wednesday, charges were filed against 19-year-old Christopher Anthony Dilts following further investigation, including tips from the public based on the released of video surveillance images earlier this week. Police say on the 6th, Dilts forced his way into the Dixonville Food and Gas store on Route 403 in Green Township by smashing a side window with a pair of pliers. Once inside, he stole $3,880 worth of cigarettes and vaping devices. Dilts returned to the scene at 10:38 PM, going in through the same smashed window, retrieved the pliers he used and remained in the store for another 20 seconds before the store’s burglar alarm activated.
Dilts was arrested on Wednesday and arraigned before District Judge Christopher Welch and was put in Indiana County Jail in lieu of $25,000 cash bail. A preliminary hearing is set for June 13th.
