Many plea and sentencing hearings are scheduled for today, including one for a person involved in the Valentines Day 2020 shooting and robbery on Wayne Avenue in Indiana Borough.
22-year-old Mamadi Saccoh of Philadelphia is due in Indiana County Court this morning for a sentencing hearing. Saccoh was one of four people involved in the incident at two student rental properties in the 800 block of Wayne Avenue near IUP’s campus. Saccoh, along with Daron Reel, Jr., Nafis Harper and Samuel Wilson were charged in connection with the incidents. Police said Saccoh acted as the driver while the other three went to the first house, demanding drugs. When none were found, they went to a neighboring house for the same thing. At the second house, Reel shot one of the occupants. The victim survived the shooting.
Saccoh entered a guilty plea on March 2nd of this year to a charge of Robbery-inflicting serious bodily injury, while numerous other charges were either not prosecuted, changed or withdrawn.
Reel was already sentenced to 57 months to 10 years in state prison. Wilson and Harper were ordered to serve three to six years in prison in their sentencing hearings.
