Two people will be in Indiana County’s Court of Common Pleas today for sentencing in multiple hearings.
One of them is 41-year-old Jerome Robinson of Indiana. He faces charges in five separate cases and has entered guilty pleas to DUI in three of those cases. In a fourth case, he was charged with aggravated and simple assault along with endangering the welfare of children for an incident in September of 2019. He eventually pleaded guilty to the child endangerment charge.
An affidavit from Indiana Borough Police said that a babysitter reported an infant child was okay between the hours of midnight and two AM on the 22nd, but the child was taken to IRMC a little over two hours later, with injuries that medical professionals said were consistent with abuse, and the child was flown to Children’s Hospital. Police said the child was hurt as Robinson fought with the baby’s mother over her coming home early in the morning. The mother told police that he picked the child up and squeezed the baby. In a fifth case, Robinson pleaded guilty of failing to register with Pennsylvania State Police.
The other person scheduled for sentencing today is 54-year-old Theresa McCloskey of Homer City, who pleaded guilty to drug-related crimes in three separate incidents, including possession of red phosphorus with the intent to manufacture a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia and driving on a suspended license in a second case and possession of a controlled substance in a third.
