The Purchase Line School Board will hold a work session tonight, with a varied agenda.
The board will consider the $7.1 million ICTC budget. Purchase Line’s share would be $347,665.
Other items include discussion of an Emergency Operations Plan; the resurfacing of the track that circles the football field; the naming of a new varsity football coach, a head cheerleading coach, and an assistant track coach; and the first readings of revised policies covering student discipline, weapons, terroristic threats, controlled substances and paraphernalia, and suspensions and expulsions.
Also tonight, Superintendent Shawn Ford will discuss the district’s summer plans, including high school credit recovery, the Leap Into Learning program, and STEAM Camp VI.
The Indiana Area Academic & Extracurricular Committee also meets tonight.
Among the discussion items will be summer school, as well as the plans to bring back last year’s highly successful summer camp, which this year would be one five-week session; a Global Honors Program at the Senior High School; an update on the Social Studies program review; a brief presentation of a Lego League as part of the STEAM Education offerings at the Eisenhower and Horace Mann schools; and driver’s education options.
