So far, there have been no major disturbances related to the IUPatty’s unsanctioned celebration.
According to IACT information officer Michelle Fryling, there have been no major incidents reported from Friday to Saturday, but further statistics for last night will be released later today.
As far as the first night of IUPatty’s weekend, from Thursday night to Friday morning, there were a total of 10 calls for routine service from IUP police. Six of those were on IUP’s grounds or residence halls. Two of them were for fire drills in residence halls. IUP Police also reported 10 traffic stops , three citations and seven warnings. There was also one ambulance call and only one noise complaint at an on-campus location.
Indiana Borough Police said that between Thursday and Friday, they had 45 calls for service. Five of them were IUP related. One criminal charge and five traffic charges were filed, with two of those IUP related. State police reported approximately 90 traffic stops, made 7 DUI arrests and two drug-related arrests. One warrant was served, and on two instances, police were called out to break up disturbances or loud parties. No arrests were made in connection with those parties.
