HERITAGE CONFERENCE GIRLS
River Valley jumped on Marion Center early, with a 22-10 first quarter, and held off the Stingers to win it, 62-46. Freshman Ava Persichetti scored 20 points and added seven assists and Isabel Pynos had a double-double, with 14 points and 11 rebounds. Julia Potts added 11 points. For Marion Center, Lydia Miller and Kaelee Elkin each had 15 points.
The United girls stayed in contention for the second semifinal spot in the Heritage Conference West with a 53-40 win over West Shamokin. Lauren Donelson led the way with 16 points and three teammates were also in double figures. Delaney Perrone scored 12, Mollee Fry 11, and Jordyn Travis 10. For West Shamokin, two players posted double-doubles. Lily Jordan had 17 points and 12 rebounds and Lexie Young had 11 points and 12 rebounds.
Cambria Heights nipped Purchase Line, 47-46, on Bryce Burkey’s game-winning shot with just eight seconds left on the clock. Burkey finished with 14 points for the Highlanders and Karli Storm has 10. The Red Dragons were led by Madison Scalese’s 19 points and Bethany Smith’s 10.
Megan Dumm scored 18 points and had 15 rebounds as Penns Manor sprinted away from Northern Cambria, 68-32. The Comets surged to a 25-6 first quarter advantage and led 43-12 at the half. Sarah Stiteler scored 13 for Penns Manor, Deja Gillo 11, and Kate Hnatko 10. For Northern Cambria, Alivia Yahner and Kenzie Formeck each scored 13.
Homer-Center’s girls played a non-conference game for the second night in a row, and came away with a 55-33 win over Triple-A Huntingdon. Macy Sardone paced the Wildcats with 19 points, Marlee Kochman had 12, and Molly Kosmack scored 10, all in the second half.
THE ROAD TO THE KCAC PRESENTED BY FIRST COMMONWEALTH BANK
Purchase Line and Marion Center are tied for second in the Heritage Conference East girls standings. Both teams are 5-6 and will play each other tomorrow for the right to play in the conference semifinals next Tuesday night against Homer-Center. We will have that game tomorrow on 92.5 FM U92.
The other girls semifinal will feature Penns Manor hosting either River Valley or United, which are both 7-3. River Valley plays West Shamokin tomorrow night while United has a tough matchup against Homer-Center. Should River Valley win their game, they will get the semifinal berth because they beat United both times they played this season.
On the boys side, United and West Shamokin are still sorting it out to determine which team will be first and which will be second in the west. Both have clinched a spot in the semis. Penns Manor has clinched first in the east and Cambria Heights has clinched second.

Indiana’s boys dropped a heartbreaker to Plum last night, 43-41. The Mustangs’ Austin Hereda hit a three-pointer from the corner with ten seconds left for the game-winner. He finished with 14 points and teammate Nick Killinger had 19. For Indiana, freshman Stanford Webb scored 11 points and senior Ethan Kutz had 10.
ON-AIR TONIGHT
Tonight there is a boys game on the U92 broadcast schedule. Purchase Line visits Marion Center, with the broadcast to start at the conclusion of the IUP women’s makeup game at Lock Haven. Jack Benedict will have that IUP broadcast starting at 5:15.
River Valley’s boys visit West Shamokin tonight on Cat Country, 106.3 FM.
