Many hearings are scheduled for today for Indiana County’s Courts, including one for a man who tried to elude capture in Blairsville in September of last year.
Court documents show that 44-year-old Matthew Lee Carl Wayne Tiger of Indiana will go for a plea court hearing today. He is charged with making terroristic threats, harassment, public drunkenness, disorderly conduct and resisting arrest for an incident on September 2nd. State police at the time said that Tiger was causing a disturbance along Maple Avenue Extension. When police arrived, they said Tiger fled the scene on foot, and was walking out into traffic and impeding the oncoming vehicles at the intersection of Sharps Hill Road and Old William Penn Highway. Blairsville police did catch up with him but he resisted police as he was being taken into custody. He has been in Indiana County Jail on $50,000 bail since then.
Also due for plea court today is one of two people who were charged with child endangerment. 30-year-old Travis Wayne Biss of Bolivar was charged in connection with an incident on January 20th of 2020. Indiana Borough Police were called out to a home on Nixon Avenue and found Biss and 27-year-old Marie Meghan Abbott of Indiana in an intoxicated state from a controlled substance in front of three children.
Several sentencing hearings are set for today as well, including for Jeffrey Phillip Elliott, who faces four counts of possession of a firearm from August of 2020, and 43-year-old Eric Scott Schrack of Blairsville for one count each of rape of a child, involuntary deviate sexual intercourse with a child, aggravated indecent assault of a child, and indecent assault of a person under 13 for an investigation that dates back to January of 2004.
