The heavy snow yesterday into last night is causing roads to be slick this morning.
The National Weather Service Winter Storm Warning remains in effect for Indiana County and surrounding areas until 1:00 this afternoon. Between now and then, we could see another 2-4 inches of snow on top of what we have already received, and Accuweather says that will bring snowfall totals close to the 10 inch mark for our area. Accuweather Meteorologist Mike Mussini said that snow is not the only problem today, but the wind will also play a factor in driving and cleanup efforts.
PennDOT and the Turnpike Commission still are advising people against unnecessary travel today, but if you do have to go out, give yourself plenty of time, allow plenty of distance between you and other vehicles, especially snow plows and salt trucks, and reduce your speed on roadways.
