The Penguins canceled yesterday’s scheduled practice in Cranberry and Wednesday’s game in Toronto has been postponed as the NHL continues to deal with covid-19. The Pens were to take on the Bruins in Boston tonight, but that game was also postponed,
The Penguins last played on December 19th, winning their sixth straight game, 3-2, over New Jersey. Since that time, they have had postponements against the Devils, Flyers, and now the Bruins and Maple Leafs. They are next scheduled to play Friday afternoon at 1 at Ottawa. They’re scheduled to practice in Cranberry today.
The team also placed forward Evan Rodrigues into covid protocols yesterday.
The NHL announced last night that it is bringing back taxi squads for every team until the start of the All-Star break on February 3rd. Teams will be able to have six minor league players at the ready to step in when needed. There are restrictions on who is eligible and special rules in place, most notably that the players will not count against a team’s salary cap.
