Paul Steigerwald has the story.
Defenseman Mike Matheson says it was a squeaker against a tough Devils defense.
Center Teddy Blueger scored the game’s first goal, the Penguins’ first short-handed goal of the season, in the first period. He says they had to buckle down at the end.
The Penguins host the Devils tomorrow night at PPG Paints Arena, on 92.5 FM U92.
NHL
The NHL says cross-border games between U.S. and Canadian teams will be postponed for the upcoming week. The announcement Sunday comes as the league takes on a rising number of COVID-19 cases. Twelve games that would have taken place between Monday and Thursday are affected by the decision. The statement added that a final determination on whether NHL players will participate in the 2022 Beijing Olympics will also be coming soon.
