The identity of the victim in a fatal two-vehicle crash Tuesday morning on Route 422 has been released by Indiana County Coroner Jerry Overman.
According to the Pennsylvania State Police report, Delores D. McCloskey, 82, of Homer City, entered the South 6th exit ramp on to Route 422 Highway East traveling eastbound in the westbound lanes while a tri-axle coal truck was traveling westbound. McCloskey’s vehicle was struck on the driver’s side by the tri-axle coal truck. Both vehicles came to rest in the grass median of Route 422 Highway East and sustained severe damage.
McCloskey was wearing a seatbelt. She died immediately from blunt force injuries. The death was ruled accidental. Funeral arrangements are being made with Barrett Funeral Home in Northern Cambria.
No injury update was given on the passenger in McCloskey’s vehicle, a 78-year old woman, also from Homer City. She was LifeFlighted to Conemaugh Memorial Medical Center.
