State Representative Jim Struzzi says this week will be an important one in Harrisburg, members of the House will be considering four pieces of legislation he has authored.
On Monday, the Education Committee will vote on his bill establishing a $12 million recovery fund for adult education providers to “upskill” adults for the post-covid workforce. On Tuesday, the Finance Committee considers Struzzi’s bill to help grieving families deal with unnecessary taxes. Also under consideration will be his bipartisan bill to protect civic-minded volunteers from certain liabilities when they make their properties available for recreational and other purposes. And on Thursday, the House Human Services Committee will hold an informational meeting on Struzzi’s bill to develop a statewide process for placing Medicaid-enrolled patients with behavioral health or other long-term needs in appropriate care settings in a timely manner.
Struzzi also says the House State Government Committee will take up legislation tomorrow regarding a preliminary Congressional redistricting map, which he says would serve as a starting point for developing a final version of redrawn congressional districts. The map was one of 19 submitted to the committee through its online mapping tool.
