Coach Mike Tomlin quickly put Sunday’s Ravens game in the rear view mirror yesterday as he turned his attention to Thursday night’s game at Minnesota against the Vikings.
Tomlin says the fast turnaround will not be easy, especially in light of the number of injuries his team is dealing with.
The coach says the lack of practice time will affect his ability to judge whether injured players such as cornerback Joe Haden will be able to play on Thursday.
The Vikings are coming off a last-second one-point loss to Detroit and Tomlin says he is not as familiar with them as he might normally be if it was a regular Sunday game instead of Thursday.
Tomlin says the Vikings are in the same boat as the Steelers when it comes to game prep.
In addition to Haden, Steelers injuries include guard BJ Finney, who left after one series Sunday with a back injury that was being evaluated yesterday. Finney was playing in place of the injured JC Hassenauer, who was playing in place of the injured Kevin Dotson. Defensive lineman Isaiah Buggs also missed Sunday’s game with a foot injury.
The Vikings will likely be missing their top running back, Dalvin Cook, and wide receiver Adam Thielen.
The Ravens announced yesterday that star cornerback Marlon Humphrey is out for the year with a torn pectoral muscle suffered against the Steelers.
