Pitt quarterback Kenny Pickett was named last night as one of four finalists for the Heisman Trophy. The Panthers star was invited to the trophy ceremony in New York along with Alabama quarterback Bryce Young (who is the favorite), Ohio State QB CJ Stroud, and Michigan defensive end Aidan Hutchinson.
Pickett has already been named the ACC Player of the Year. Pitt’s only Heisman Trophy winner is Tony Dorsett, who won the award in 1976.
Seven Panthers were named yesterday to the Associated Press All-ACC teams. Pickett and wide receiver Jordan Addision were unanimous picks for the first team offense. Left tackle Carter Warren was named to the second team. On defense, tackle Calijah Kancey was named to the first team, and defensive end Habakkuk Baldonado, linebacker SirVocea Dennis and strong safety Brandon Hill made second team.
Wake Forest’s Dave Clawson was named coach of the year.
