There will be no trades in Major League Baseball for the time being because the players are locked out.
Much of this labor dispute deals with free agency. Players want it after five years in the big league or once they are 29-and-a-half years old. Owners want to keep the rights to their players for the first six years of their career.
The collective bargaining agreement between Major League Baseball and the players’ union expired at 11:59 p.m. on Wednesday, leading to the first official work stoppage in professional baseball since the 1994-95 seasons.
