Indiana County’s Courts reopen today with a light schedule, including one plea court hearing and four sentencings.
The plea court hearing is for 22-year-old Caleb Edward Pearce of Indiana, who is facing two felony counts of possession of a controlled substance with the intent to deliver and one count of criminal use of a communications facility. The charges stemmed from an incident in early July where Indiana Borough Police found controlled substances and items that indicated possible drug trafficking in a home in the 500 block of Church Street. A co-defendant in the case, 20-year-old Madison Eubanks, is due for a criminal call hearing for the same case on Friday.
As for the sentencing hearings, 46-year-old Mark Cessna of Kittanning will be sentenced for guilty pleas to charges of driving on a suspended license and habitual offenders related to an incident on December 15th of last year. Also due for sentencing this morning is 58-year-old Robert Eugene Adams of Home, who was charged with failure to provide accurate registration information on November 30th of last year. And 49-year-old Harold Filer of Shelocta will be sentenced in two cases. One will be for a guilty plea of possession of a controlled substance that goes back to August of 2018, and the other case is for the same charge from June of that year.
