INDIANA BOROUGH POLICE
Indiana Borough Police have charged an Indiana man with trespassing and harassment for an incident last Friday. Police say around 5:02 PM on November 19th, they were called out to the “00” block of South 5th Street for a report of a man entering a home without permission. The man was identified as 71-year-old Tahir Mir of Indiana. He also allegedly grabbed a victim by the arm in an attempt to speak with her. Citations of Harassment and Trespass were filed through district judge Guy Haberl’s office. Mir does have a criminal history in Indiana County, as in 2013, a jury found him guilty of two counts each of illegal administration of a controlled substance and conspiracy to the same crime. He was ordered at the time to serve up to 15 years in jail.
No injuries were reported in a crash that happened Sunday in the “00” block of North 9th street in Indiana Borough. Police say a Plymouth Grand Voyager, driven by 87-year-old Harry Hull of Indiana, was going East into the 900 block of Nixon Avenue when it crossed onto North 9th street and entered a county-owned parking lot. The Plymouth then hit a Ford Expedition and a Ford Explorer, both of which were unoccupied. Charges will be filed against Hull.
