Indiana County Common Pleas Court has a very active schedule today, including several jury trials and a number of sentencing proceedings.
Jury selection will be held and the trials could possible begin today for 50-year-old Stanley Henderson and 48-year-old Dorothy Henderson, both of Robinson and both charged with six third-degree felony counts of theft by failure to make required disposition of funds. The cases originated in 2015.
Jury selection is also scheduled today for 36-year-old Richard Frank Shaffer of Indiana, who is charged with two felony counts of possession of a controlled substance/contraband by an inmate, and with felony and misdemeanor counts of possession of a controlled substance.
Sentencing is scheduled today for 44-year-old Jeremy Johnson of Homer City, who was found guilty in June of five counts each of indecent assault and harassment and a single count of corruption of minors for sexually assaulting his children’s babysitter. The case dates to 2016. The victim went to police in January of last year, after Johnson had moved out of state.
Sentencing is also scheduled for 33-year-old Brice Carnahan of Homer City, for guilty pleas to two counts of simple assault.
30-year-old Adam Eugene Bennett, now of Bloomfield, Indiana, will be sentenced for a single felony count of strangulation by forcible pressure to the neck, committed at a location along Dolores Circle in White Township in February of 2020.
40-year-old Michelle Lynn Wilkins of Coral will be sentenced for misdemeanor guilty pleas to driving under the influence and endangering the welfare of children.
