Tristan Jarry earned his second consecutive shutout and Jake Guentzel and Jeff Carter scored first-period goals as the Penguins blanked the Maple Leafs 2-0 last night in Toronto. The two-day road swing to Canada ends with the Penguins outscoring the Canadiens and Maple Leafs by a combined 8-0.
Jarry made 26 saves in the game and extended his streak of scoreless minutes since a 6-0 loss to Washington to 149:47. He already owns the franchise record of 177:15, set in 2019. His teammates certainly did their part, throwing up a brick wall when the Maple Leafs got a two-man advantage for 1:49. The Pens outshot Toronto, 2-1 on the five-on-three.
Guentzel scored for the fourth straight game.
