An annual holiday tradition on WCCS has moved programs, but the purpose remains the same: help the United Way and help get food on the table for those who may not get a meal this Thanksgiving.
Today is the annual United Way Turkeython, with this year, the show taking place on Indiana in the Morning from 7-10 AM today. Guests will be coming in to the station at the corner of 9th and Philadelphia Streets to make donations throughout the morning. Donations are also being accepted at locations throughout Indiana, Homer City and Clymer. Every dollar raised will go to the United Way to help its member organizations, and will be matched by local grocers in the form of food cards, turkeys and other food to be presented to various organizations to prepare meals, include in food boxes, stock food pantries, and enable people in need to celebrate the holidays and beyond.
To make a donation to the Turkeython, call 724-479-1160 this morning between 7 and 10 AM, drop off a donation at the station or at any of the collection points, or donate online at https://donate.onecause.com/turkeython
