State police from the Kittanning barracks are looking for a missing man from the New Castle area.
Police say that on Thursday at 1:00 PM, 82-year-old Fred Fair went into the woods in the area of Watersonville Road and Sherry Road to scout for a hunting spot. At 5:20 PM, Fair was reported missing by his family members. His vehicle was found in a parking lot near the hunting area. His wallet was not left in the car, and Fair does not carry a cell phone with him. Several local K-9 agencies, fire departments and aerial units assisted with the investigation, but so far the search efforts have been unsuccessful.
Fair is described as six feet tall, 150 pounds with grey hair and brown eyes, and was last seen wearing a knit hat and a winter coat.
Anyone with information his whereabouts is asked to call police at 724-543-2011.
