At Steelers’ practice yesterday, Chase Claypool returned to practice but was limited due to a toe injury. Linebacker TJ Watt, cornerback Joe Haden, and starting guards Trai Turner and Kevin Dotson all missed practice with injuries. Quarterback Ben Roethlisberger and safety Minkah Fitzpatrick remained in isolation due to covid-19.
Tight end Pat Freiermuth is trying to put last Sunday’s game behind him after he dropped a wide open screen pass in overtime and later fumbled the ball away on the last play before the Steelers would have attempted a game-winning field goal. Freiermuth says he’s gotten a lot of support from teammates and family as he “flushes” that game from his system.
Safety Terrell Edmunds will very likely be working without Minkah Fitzpatrick at his familiar safety position on Sunday night against the Chargers. He says rookie seventh round draft pick Tre Norwood has been capable of playing anywhere in the secondary this season.
Roethlisberger and Fitzpatrick could come back to play on Sunday, although Big Ben is more likely than Fitzpatrick because of the timeline of their positive tests.
Tonight in the NFL, week eleven features the 6-4 Patriots visting the 4-5 Falcons in Atlanta.
