The Southwestern Pennsylvania Commission, which coordinates transportation projects for 10 counties, will conduct a virtual meeting this evening regarding the next four years of projects under the Pennsylvania Transportation Improvement Program.
The open house meeting will cover work in the planning stages for Indiana, Armstrong, and Butler counties, and will include representatives of the SPC, PennDOT District 10, transit operators, and county planning departments. Participants will be able to view maps and hear from officials about the planned projects.
The meeting is at 6 PM and will be streamed through the Southwestern Pennsylvania Commission Facebook page, at “spcregion.”
Speaking of the Southwestern Pennsylvania Commission, the organization is asking people who live in the region, and specifically in Indiana County, to fill out a survey regarding broadband availability. The survey was posted yesterday. The SPC is working with Carnegie Mellon University to develop what it calls a “Connectivity Improvement Plan,” seeking to use some of the $65 billion included in the new infrastructure plan signed into law this week.
The survey is due back by December 5th. You can find it at www.spcregion.org under “News & Events”.
